Among other scholars, we have a number of distinguished professors: 23 MacArthur Genius Grant winners, 11 Nobel laureates, and 1 Pulitzer Prize winner are currently on our faculty. And all of them teach undergraduate students.

In this context, Ortega emphasized that «we are students with a particular interest and we were able to demonstrate that in a project of international scale we had what it takes, the capabilities and the desire». Because hundreds of university students, from dozens of countries and academic institutions, wanted to be part of the international program, but just over 50 passed the rigorous phases to be selected for a mission with significant local representation: «we are from the university with the most students in the mission and the country that was best represented; we were an interdisciplinary and international team and we realized that being in Concepción, living in Chile, where we are literally at the end of the world, we can do as much as in the rest of the world,» said Tatiana López.
An achievement of tremendous value and impact on their own life, career, university and peers, to broaden their vision and encourage, which was recognized by the university authorities at the official welcome ceremony prepared for the four young people at the beginning of this week.

Este curso de cuatro años cubre una amplia gama de temas organizados en tres corrientes: aerodinámica, dinámica y control, estructuras y materiales. Estos temas se especializan desde el primer año y se enseñan con aplicaciones y ejemplos aeroespaciales. Los dos primeros años se dedican a los conceptos básicos, que se imparten mediante clases magistrales y se apoyan en la experiencia práctica a través de trabajos de curso y de laboratorio. En el tercer año, el proyecto de investigación le permitirá abordar un problema en detalle, por ejemplo, el aterrizaje automático de un vehículo aéreo no tripulado (UAV), el diseño de una posible misión espacial o las pruebas experimentales de materiales compuestos avanzados. Algunas unidades están relacionadas con áreas de aplicación concretas, como la aerodinámica de helicópteros, los sistemas espaciales o la energía eólica. Otras estudian tecnologías concretas, como el análisis de materiales compuestos o la aerodinámica experimental, o bien se puede optar por realizar un proyecto de investigación.
