Due to the little information available on the vegetation of the Sierra Tarahumara, in what is known as Baja Tarahumara, the need to generate floristic information to increase the botanical collection of Mexico was determined. Although there are studies on vascular plants of the Upper Tarahumara, these do not provide complete information on the species due to the difference in climate that dominates the two regions, one being dominated by a tropical deciduous forest and the other by pine-oak forests. The Baja Tarahumara or Barrancas del Cobre occupies an area of 126,653 hectares, geographically located between 27º00’00 «Lat. N.Y.107º45’00» Long. W. It is intended to make a floristic inventory of the area, collecting species in a systematized way from the adjacent regions of the Upper Tarahumara to the Lower Tarahumara. The collected plant specimens will be deposited in three different herbariums: Herbarium of the Facultad de Zootecnia (CHIH) Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, Herbarium of New Mexico State University (NMC), National Herbarium (MEXU) and the Herbarium of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (ENCB). A database consisting of a floristic list will be sent to CONABIO.

The Arizona State University Museum of Art is operated by Arizona State University, and is located on its main campus in Tempe. The collection was established in 1950 and had approximately 12,000 objects in its permanent collection as of the early 21st century. The primary focuses of the collection are contemporary art, including new media; crafts, with an emphasis on American ceramics; historic and contemporary prints; art from Arizona and the southwestern United States, with an emphasis on Latino artists; also art from throughout the Americas, both historic and modernist and contemporary pieces.
Contemporary artworks held by the museum include works by Hung Liu, Karel Appel, Derek Boshier, Deborah Butterfield, Sue Coe, Dan Collins, Vernon Fisher, Jon Haddock, William Kentridge, Lynn M. Randolph, Frances Whitehead and William T. Wiley.
Print collections at the Museum include some 5,000 prints, which are housed in the Jules Heller Print Study Room. One focus of the museum’s print collection deals with social and political issues; works include pieces by William Hogarth, Honoré Daumier, Francisco de Goya, José Guadalupe Posada, Leopoldo Mendéz and Francesc Torres. The collection includes about 50 etchings and works on paper by contemporary Cuban artists and 123 lithographs and etchings by Sue Coe. The collection of prints also includes examples of Japanese ukiyo-e.
