The current academic offerings consist of seventeen undergraduate degrees, which are distributed in seven different faculties and schools. Similarly, the university offers sixteen postgraduate programs and two doctoral programs.[9] The university’s central campus is located in Tegucigalpa, although the institution also has eight regional campuses spread across different cities in the country.[10] The university’s main campus is in Tegucigalpa.

La Universidad Iberoamericana (en español: Universidad Iberoamericana, abreviada UIA pero comúnmente conocida como Ibero o La Ibero) es una institución privada mexicana de educación superior, patrocinada por la Compañía de Jesús. En 2009, la UIA recibió el Premio SEP-ANUIES como la mejor universidad privada de México. El campus insignia de la Ibero se encuentra en el barrio de Santa Fe de la Ciudad de México. Está clasificada por el QS World University Rankings como 701-750 a nivel mundial y 7 en México.
Su biblioteca principal, la Biblioteca Francisco Xavier Clavigero, cuenta con más de 400.000 libros y revistas y, a partir de 2007, es una de las bibliotecas universitarias más grandes del país[2] También cuenta con una de las bibliotecas de derecho más grandes de México[cita requerida].
Otras instituciones afiliadas, pero independientes de la Ibero en la Ciudad de México, se encuentran en Guadalajara, León, Torreón, Puebla, Playas de Tijuana y Jaltepec. En conjunto, forman el Sistema Universitario Jesuita, una red de universidades privadas dirigidas por jesuitas.
La universidad fue fundada en 1943 por la Compañía de Jesús, pero con la importante ayuda de Rodolfo Brito Foucher, rector de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Brito Foucher, abogado y director de la Facultad de Derecho de la UNAM antes de ser rector, opinaba que esto no iba en contra de la prohibición de la Constitución de 1917 de participar en la educación católica, ya que el artículo no especificaba la educación superior, sino sólo la primaria y la secundaria[3] Un grupo clave en la fundación de la Ibero fueron los antiguos activistas estudiantiles de la Unión Nacional de Estudiantes Católicos (UNEC), dirigida por los jesuitas. La fundación se produjo en un momento en que las relaciones Iglesia-Estado en México habían mejorado a finales de los años 20 durante la Guerra Cristera y en los años 30 cuando el gobierno intentó implantar la educación hacia el socialismo en las universidades mexicanas[4].
