The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking,[1] is one of the best-known university rankings in the world. It is a list compiled by a group of specialists at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China,[2] to assess the quality of the 1,000 best universities in the world.
