Successful restoration of tropical forests goes beyond simply planting trees, especially in agricultural landscapes. Forest restoration should help restore ecosystem services to the landscape while improving the livelihoods of the people who live there. Choosing the right restoration practices is important, but effectively engaging with land-use decision-makers and building their capacity for the restoration process is a critical factor in meeting long-term objectives.

That these lizards are found at such high elevations is quite remarkable. These species are part of a broader radiation of Anolis known as the «cibotoids», which are endemic to the island. Within this diverse group (9 species), only A. armouri and A. shrevei can be found at such a high elevation. Given their thermally challenging environments, one might anticipate that the lizards’ physiology is cold-adapted, which would mean that these high-elevation species might prefer cooler body temperatures or exhibit reduced heat tolerance than their lower elevation relatives (such as Anolis cybotes).
