Oxford continuing education philosophy
We are an interdisciplinary learning community oriented towards critical, ethical and creative action in the cultural, educational, economic, technological and social fields to project a future of well-being and justice.
With eleven academic programs at the professional, master’s and doctoral levels, more than 2,400 on-campus and distance students and 43 professors-researchers affiliated with the National System of Researchers of CONACYT.
Tecnológico de Monterrey is the first institution in Latin America to establish an Internet connection and is also a pioneer in distance education in Mexico, having founded its Virtual University in 1989.
The content of the courses is developed by expert professors in the area of knowledge of Tecnológico de Monterrey and other international universities with which it has agreements. The professors have doctorate degrees and/or are consultants, which ensures a perfect balance between theory and practice in all courses.
All courses incorporate cutting-edge technology such as content delivery platforms, mobile applications, and in the case of classroom programs, classrooms equipped with furniture that facilitates and encourages interaction and active learning.

La Dra. Adriana Salcedo es actualmente directora del Departamento de Estudios sobre la Paz y los Conflictos de la Universidad para la Paz de Costa Rica. Es una académica y profesional en el campo de la transformación de conflictos y la construcción de la paz con un enfoque en el conflicto, el género, la identidad y la migración. Es doctora en Análisis y Resolución de Conflictos por la Escuela Jimmy y Rosslyn Carter para la Paz y la Resolución de Conflictos de la Universidad George Mason, en Virginia, Estados Unidos. Para obtener este título, llevó a cabo una amplia investigación sobre la migración forzada, el conflicto y la integración social de los refugiados en las zonas fronterizas entre Colombia y Ecuador y en los centros urbanos de Ecuador. Está profundamente comprometida con la consecución de un cambio social positivo a través de medios no violentos y con el fortalecimiento de los actores sociales, incluidas las organizaciones de base, las comunidades indígenas y los grupos minoritarios, a través de su investigación y práctica. Adriana ha impartido cursos en la Escuela Carter para la Paz y la Resolución de Conflictos de la Universidad George Mason de Washington D.C., en la Universidad de Boston y en la Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar de Quito (Ecuador) sobre análisis de conflictos, metodologías de colaboración para la construcción de la paz, mediación, conflictos de identidad, género y migración.

It enjoys a reputation as one of the most attractive colleges due to its extensive and pleasant gardens. On its 125th anniversary, the college became a registered charity under the name «The Principal and Fellows of St Hugh’s College at the University of Oxford». As of July 2018, the college’s financial endowment was £37.6 million.
Its first six students were Annie Moberly, Jessie Annie Emmerson, Charlotte Jourdain, Constance E. Ashburner, Wilhelmina J. de Lorna Mitchell and Grace J. Parsons. Students were required to ask the principal before accepting invitations to visit friends, and the college doors were closed at 21:00.
The college began moving to its present site in 1913, when it purchased the lease of a house called «The Mount» from the Reverend Robert Hartley for £2,500. This house was situated on the corner of St Margaret’s Road and Banbury Road, and was owned by University College.
