-Carrera is a term that comes from Latin. Specifically, it derives from «carraria», which is the sum of «carrus», which is synonymous with «cart», and the suffix «-arius», which is used to indicate relationship or belonging.

-Universitaria, on the other hand, is a word that also comes from Latin. It can be translated as «belonging to the university» and is the result of the union of two words: «unus», which is equivalent to «one», and «versus».

There are many meanings of the term career. In this case we are interested in its meaning as the series of studies that a person must take in order to obtain a degree and thus be qualified to exercise a certain profession.

University, on the other hand, is that which is linked to the university: a house of higher education. Universities are usually made up of different faculties and have other related institutions, such as schools, libraries and research centers.

The State, through the Ministry of Education or a similar body, is in charge of making official the degrees that are awarded when someone completes a university degree. Likewise, the State keeps a registry of the entities that are authorized to provide educational services.
