Philippa took the hard tests, which were held over 8 consecutive days and in which, for five and a half hours, they had to correctly answer the 12 questionnaires that were presented to them with 192 questions; the difficulty of each one increased with increasing difficulty. Those who obtained the best results were eligible for the prestigious distinction and for this they had to go through another 63 complicated problems, over three more days.[2] The women were allowed to opt for the Triumvirate.
Women were allowed to opt for the Tripos since 1881. Linked to the suffragette movement, Philippa’s achievement was commented on in media around the world fueling the debate on women’s capabilities and rights.[4] Thanks to her results in the Mathematical Mathematics, she was able to win the Mathematical Mathematics Competition.
Thanks to her results in the Mathematical Tripos she achieved a fellowship at Cambridge where she focused her research on fluid mechanics. Among her published papers was «A Note on the Motion of Solids in a Liquid.»[5]
Philippa Fawcett maintained strong links with Newnham College throughout her life. The Fawcett Building (1938) was so named in recognition of her and her family’s contribution to Newnham.

Utilizando una base de datos prospectiva, seleccionamos una muestra de pacientes que habían sido sometidos a cirugía cardíaca mayor entre enero de 2002 y diciembre de 2013. La capacidad de los parámetros para predecir la LRA se basó en los criterios de creatinina sérica de la Red de Lesión Renal Aguda. Una cohorte de 3.962 casos se dividió en dos grupos de tamaño similar, uno exploratorio y otro de validación. El grupo exploratorio se utilizó para mostrar los objetivos primarios y el grupo de validación para confirmar los resultados. La capacidad de predecir la IRA de varios parámetros de la función renal medidos en los análisis de sangre postoperatorios rutinarios, se midió con curvas ROC dependientes del tiempo. El objetivo primario fue el tiempo transcurrido desde la medición hasta el diagnóstico de IRA.
