El nivel de exigencia del máster era muy alto, en el sentido de que requería mucho tiempo y dedicación. El enfoque pedagógico y la forma de evaluar eran muy diferentes a lo que yo estaba acostumbrado, ya que priorizan los trabajos en lugar de los exámenes.
De esta manera, aunque teníamos la ventaja de no estudiar para los exámenes regulares, los trabajos exigen mucho más tiempo, pero permiten plasmar mejor lo aprendido al estudiar casos reales y dar tiempo a investigar el tema con mayor profundidad.
El proyecto de investigación comienza a desarrollarse desde el primer día, cuando especificas tu área de interés y se te asigna un director de tesis según tu elección. Después de varias reuniones, en las que presentas tus avances y recibes la retroalimentación, llegas a presentar tu tesis al final del máster.
Mi proyecto de investigación abordó la problemática existente en Perú en cuanto a la vulnerabilidad sísmica de todo tipo de infraestructuras, especialmente las viales. Hice un análisis previo sobre los puentes afectados durante el terremoto de Pisco en 2007 y luego me centré en un caso particular, para ejemplificar este problema y proponer posibles soluciones.
